How Does Immigration Advice Work?

A foreign national (or family of a foreign national) who has a question about immigration law can obtain a free initial consultation at the Aliens Detention Centre.

If the question is too complex, or if the assistance of a lawyer is needed, the Immigration Department will advise you on further options or refer you.
Second-line assistance
Do you think you are eligible for second-level assistance? Complete the form and bring all necessary supporting documents to your appointment. You can then be immediately assisted with the allocation of a second-line lawyer.
